Ms Gunn Heatta
Gunn Heatta is an Indigenous Sámi woman from the northern part of Norway. Her family were traditionally reindeer herders.
Ms Heatta is a clinical social worker and has a Master in Business Administration and has been working as the director of the Sámi Norwegian Advisory Unit on Mental Health and Substance Use since 2005.
Earlier, Ms Heatta worked with substance use/abuse and suicidal behaviour in the Sámi Psychiatric Youth team, as well as leading the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic for some years.
For several years Gunn Heatta was an ASIST training coach (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)coach. She lives in Kautokeino, is married and has two daughters and four grandchildren.
